It's a Game Changer

The drug MEGESTROL ACETATE (MA) is a safe, effective contraceptive for cats.

This was established by two early studies in the veterinary journals (Oen, 1977 and Houdeshell & Hennessey, 1977).

It is in regular use by a few knowledgeable vets and by colony keepers who don't have a vet prescription for it, so they order it from Europe, where it is in more common use and can be purchased without a prescription. They have found that a mini-dose of

0.5 mg/week is enough to prevent fertility in female cats, of different sizes and different ages. It does not harm the other cats in the colony, who also eat this mini-dose in their food, once or twice a week, until the whole group of cats has been fixed and vaccinated.

The drug has been helping humans since the 1950's, as a part of certain cancer treatments and to stimulate appetite in AIDS and cancer patients.

It was approved by the FDA in 1974, as a contraceptive called Ovaban, for dogs.

It's available worldwide, under different brand names, including: Nonovulin, Ovaban, Ovarid, Megecat, Kontrik, MegAce, Singestar, Canipil, Estropil, Felipil, Megepil chat, Nonoestron, Pilucalm and Pillkan.

It's available at local and online pharmacies, as the generic "MEGESTROL ACETATE, at only pennies per dose (after proper dilution) for tiny cat doses.

MEGESTROL ACETATE stops the normal function of the egg part of a female cat's reproductive cycle.
